University Students

Redeemer is committed to loving and serving the University community. It is important that students have a place where it is safe to think about the larger questions in life, to see how the Gospel intersects with these questions and work out what that looks like.

Redeemer is connected to several campus ministries and actively supports Steve and Jen Allen who lead the Reformed University Fellowship at UNL.

Reformed University Fellowship

Reformed University Fellowship is a Christian fellowship on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Although RUF is sent to the campus by the Presbyterian Church in America, we welcome students from any and all walks of life. We are here for the “convinced” and the “unconvinced” that they might consider the true claims of Jesus Christ. Students from a wide variety of church and religious backgrounds are involved in RUF on over a hundred campuses in the United States. Steve Allen is the campus minister of RUF Nebraska.

Together with his wife Jen, they are actively investing in the lives of college students on a daily basis. They have two children, a daughter, Amelia, and a son, Miles. Please send an email or give Steve a call if you have further questions.

RUF large group meetings are on Thursday evenings during the academic year at 7:00 p.m. in the Colonial room in the Student Union on UNL's City Campus (14th and R Streets). Please join us for music, teaching, and a time together.

Small Groups

In addition to our large group meetings, we have small groups to further grow in the Word and move into each other's lives.

This fall semester, we have a freshman ladies' study over 1 John on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Abel/Sandoz dorm lounge. We have a freshman guys' study over 1 John that meets on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Harper-Schramm-Smith dining hall. On Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m., we have a study over James at the Redeemer Office Building at 8th and 'D.' All students are welcome to join any of these studies.
