Welcome to Redeemer
We are a young church dedicated to serving the city of Lincoln, Nebraska by living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our Location
Redeemer is now meeting on Sundays at 5:00pm in our new building, which is located at 901 Charleston St. in Lincoln, Nebraska (click here for a map and directions). We are extremely grateful to Zion Church—our “mother church”—for allowing us to use their facilities prior to moving into our new building.
Our Ministries
Ministries Overview
Ministries are a way to connect people to Jesus Christ and to one another. Redeemer’s ministries are designed to provide avenues for relationships to begin and existing community to deepen. Please take a moment to explore the various ministries in the list to the left.
Worship & Music
What can you expect at worship?
Everyone at Redeemer is gathered from various walks of life, and each of us is on a spiritual journey to know and experience God through Jesus Christ.
Wherever you are on the journey, we hope that you feel welcome at Redeemer. Perhaps you have never been to church before, or have only been a handful of times, and fear that you will not know what to do, how to act, or what to say. Be assured: this church is for people just like you.
People will greet you warmly at the door. You will be given a worship folder and be seated in our meeting space. From there you can expect some music, some prayer, and some teaching from the Scriptures. Additionally, you will learn more about our church and where you might best fit in.
Following our worship service we have an open Q&A time where we invite you to ask questions about what you have heard during the worship service, or any other questions you may have about Christian faith and life.
Life Groups
Life Groups are the primary place where you are known and cared for at Redeemer. It is within these small communities that you will be able to build personal relationships and practice applying the Gospel to your life.
Composed of 6 - 12 people, these groups meet in homes and public spaces throughout the city. Life Groups are led by trained lay-leaders from the congregation who receive continued oversight and support from the pastoral staff.
Life Groups generally meet 2 - 4 times a month for worship, Bible study, fellowship, and prayer. Many groups also participate in monthly service projects or social events, in place of a regular meeting.
Our hope is that everyone who attends Redeemer will be involved in a Life Group. You are welcome to join one of our many groups any time of the year.
Men
At Redeemer we believe men need to have fun and be men. We also believe that men should intentionally engage life, their families, and one another. Throughout the year the men of Redeemer will gather for meals, trips, and other guy stuff to challenge and encourage one another to work hard, play well, and passionately pursue Jesus Christ.
And yes, all this usually includes food… and when possible a big screen TV.
Women
God values women. He created one to be the mother of all mankind, chose one to give birth to His Son, and ordained that women were the first witnesses to His resurrection.
Redeemer values women, too. Our women’s ministries endeavor to teach, encourage, and help women grow in their love for Christ, and in their love and service to a world that needs Jesus.
Youth
Welcome to Redeemer’s ministry to junior and senior high school students.
Mission
Redeemer offers a Gospel-based community where high energy activities, trips, and the study of the Bible, will enable teens to explore the unique importance of a personal faith in Jesus Christ, and the life giving power the Gospel has for them, their friends, families, and schools.
Vision
The transforming power of the Gospel will create a strong and vital community of teenagers in Lincoln who follow Jesus Christ and pour themselves out for others in their families, schools, the city, and throughout the world.
Core Values
Gospel Based - Foster spiritual growth through the study and discussion of the Bible with a strong focus on application.
Outward Focused - Build a environment where Christian teens can easily invite friends to be a part of a community that explores the gospel together and serves the city.
Children
From infants to teenagers, Jesus loves children. And we do, too.
Redeemer offers energetic, engaging activities and classes that inspire growth and faith in Christ. Through children’s church, Sunday school, youth groups and nursery, our kids develop relationships with each other and with God.
College
Redeemer is committed to loving and serving the university community. Following our worship service on Sunday evening, college students meet for a time where relationships can be established and deepened, and questions can be asked and explored in the context of God’s Word. Of course there is always plenty of food and drink provided.
Redeemer is relationally connected to several campus ministries and actively supports Steve & Jen Allen who lead the Reformed University Fellowship at UNL.
Marriage
The Biblical pattern of God’s passionate courtship and commitment to His flawed, yet loved church is a powerful metaphor. This heavenly marriage model informs, enhances, and is the resource for strong marriages and strong families.
Whether engaged couples, newlyweds, or those who have walked the path of marriage for many years, Redeemer’s seminars, resources, and people will help you flesh out how the gospel can deepen and transform your marriage. If you are looking for some guidance in your marriage, please feel free to contact us.
